1876 Excelsior Diary Caro Michigan Tuscola County Antique America's Centennial. Condition is "Used". Shipped with USPS First Class.
This 1876 diary/calendar/planner came from an estate in Caro, Michigan, in the "Thumb" of Michigan.
Overall good shape considering age. Exterior binding and cover shows wear and fading, but biding is still tight. Features a built-in pocket, rates of postage, calendar with moon phases, ledger of cash accounts, etc.
The handwriting is mostly in pencil but it is still bold and legible. Many dates record the weather conditions, and some mention centennial celebrations.
Although there are local family names mentioned, I do not personally recognize names, and the handwriting is very scripted/slanted. I do not know the original owner of this diary.
